Without an eyewitness report or a fancy screenshot, I can report that Festergut 25 HM went down last night. He most likely had some cool loot, we might have had a fancy pose on him, and maybe someone even teabagged him when he was on the floor. I can't tell you this as I wasn't there myself, but just close your eyes for 10 seconds, think of an awesome lycen HM kill and take a mental screenshot of the event.
Happy? Well good! (if not, then your imagination stinks... )
The real post with all the fancy writing etc. will come later this day, just want to let everyone know the big lich is finally deceased!
P.S: this was last night, before the +5% damage/healing/health was ingame, for those wondering.
<UPDATE FIONN> And there you have it. Arthas Menethil, Crown Prince of Lordaeron, The Lich King, dead by Lycens hand.
Our guild initially encountered Arthas in the first week, with a dozen or so attempts left. We had an inkling even then though I think that the Lord of the Undead was going to provide us more than the usual challenge.
Sure enough the following weeks have in fact proven to be a fairly titanic struggle, sometimes appearing to be as much against work, exam schedules and general WoW frustration as anything else.
Some say this expansion has not been able to produce the same quality of encounter that its predecessor did. Last nights victory for me at least disproved that, combining all of the elements that make up a great, memorable boss kill, and in the end proving to be a truly epic event.
Thank you again to all those players who have continued to fight the good fight, whether able to make last nights raid or not; with special thanks to Thrackie, Tussilago and Barberry, whose special efforts yesterday made it possible.
Vapo also led a team earlier in the week to dispatch the Lich King on 10man; with some luck Venun can maneuver a photo of that in this thread also !
I realise that most of the stuff posted on the frontpage is our current raid progress, some fancy screenshots, occasially also a loot handout and what not, but something has come to my attention that I believe also deserves your attention.
